MANUNET 2013 CALL Open 9th January 2013

MANUNET call for proposals supports research projects performed by enterprises (preferably SMEs) in the field of manufacturing, with the aim of fostering the competitiveness of Europe's Manufacturing Industry.

The project proposals must clearly demonstrate:

• Transnational, collaborative R&D with a significant degree of innovation and scientific and technical risk
• Market orientation
• The application and practical use of manufacturing technologies
• Expertise of the project partners in their respective fields of competence
• Added value through transnational cooperation
• Scale of impact and the market positioning of the applicant

The 2013 call includes all fields in Manufacturing, structured in the following topics:

• Information and communication technologies for manufacturing including industrial robotics
• Environmental and energy technologies
• Knowledge-based engineering technologies (computer-aided engineering and design, automated manufacturing, product lifetime management, etc.)
• Adaptive manufacturing technologies: processes for removing, joining, adding, forming, consolidating, assembling
• Other technologies/products related to the manufacturing field

The 2013 call is open for entities belonging to these regions/countries:

All MANUNET projects consortia must consist of at least 2 independent SMEs belonging to 2 participating countries, or 2 regions in different countries. Large companies, academic research groups, universities or other public organisations may also participate according to their regional/national financing regulations.

EUMINAfab Specific Call - Closed October 31, 2012

EUMINAfab is a European Research Infrastructure for micro-nano fabrication of functional structures and devices out of a knowledge-based multimaterials' repertoire. Specific Call Micro nano technologies are key technologies relevant to a broad range of application areas in the areas of health, energy, ICT, characterisation and metrology, optics and photonics. Additionally requests for access to one or more of our installations can be made via our Standard call.

The project funding includes coverage of the access costs for users. Users from research organisations and in particular SME's from European member and associated states are welcome to apply, even travel costs can be covered. High end technologies are not readily available in all research departments and even less so to SME's. The access to such technologies and even more importantly the necessary expertise can often be the missing link in the innovation value chain. The niche of EUMINAfab is to work with our users towards their predefined goal in what can be regarded as unique mini-collaborative projects. As such new experimental structures can be achieved. New materials or specifications can be explored and "one off" or small series replication of objects required for specific, often investigative scientific or technological, purposes can be made. The possibilities are almost without limit.

The latest ENIAC Call 7 (ENIAC-2012-2) is CLOSED.

There is a call expected during 2013.

The ENIAC Joint Undertaking (JU) is a public-private partnership focusing on nanoelectronics that brings together Member/Associated States, the European Commission, and AENEAS (an association representing European R&D actors in this field).

It coordinates research activities through competitive calls for proposals to enhance the further integration and miniaturization of devices, and increase their functionalities while delivering new materials, equipment and processes, new architectures, innovative manufacturing processes, disruptive design methodologies, new packaging and ‘systemising’ methods. It will drive and be driven by innovative high-tech applications in communication and computing, transport, health care and wellness, energy and environmental management, security and safety, and entertainment.

After eight years of active collaboration MNT-ERA.NET has ended.

MNT-ERA.NET was a large network of European Micro and Nano Technology (MNT) support programmes. It  was launched in 2004 and MNT-ERA.NET is continuing its activities under the 7th EU Framework Programme until 2011.

The EuroNanoMed ERA-NET initiative comprises 24 partners from 18 countries/regions. EuroNanoMed aims at fostering the competitiveness of European nanomedicine players through the support of trans-national collaborative and multidisciplinary Research and Technology Development (RTD) projects with participants from academia, clinical/public health communities, and industry (particularly small and medium-sized enterprises).

MATERA was an ERA-NET project focusing on creating a durable cooperation platform for national and regional policy makers and managers with strategic activities in materials science and engineering. It promoted European cooperation between national and regional programmes on materials. MATERA brought together an active network of 19 organisations from 16 countries. The project was funded by the European Commission in the sixth framework programme during 1.2.2005–31.5.2011.
