MANUNET 2012 CALL

MANUNET call for proposals supports research projects performed by enterprises (preferably SMEs) in the field of manufacturing, with the aim of fostering the competitiveness of Europe’s Manufacturing Industry.

The project proposals must clearly demonstrate:

• Transnational, collaborative R&D with a significant degree of innovation and scientific and technical risk
• Market orientation
• The application and practical use of manufacturing technologies
• Expertise of the project partners in their respective fields of competence
• Added value through transnational cooperation
• Scale of impact and the market positioning of the applicant

The 2012 call includes all fields in Manufacturing, structured in the following topics:

• Information and communication technologies for manufacturing including industrial robotics
• Environmental and energy technologies
• Knowledge-based engineering technologies (computer-aided engineering and design, automated manufacturing, product lifetime management, etc.)
• Adaptive manufacturing technologies: processes for removing, joining, adding, forming, consolidating, assembling
• Other technologies/products related to the manufacturing field

The 2012 call is open for entities belonging to these regions/countries:

All MANUNET projects consortia must consist of at least 2 independent SMEs belonging to 2 participating countries, or 2 regions in different countries. Large companies, academic research groups, universities or other public organisations may also participate according to their regional/national financing regulations.

MANUNET provides an online partner search tool for organisations and enterprises interested in participating in future MANUNET projects. The tool facilitates the search for potential partners and project ideas.

EUMINAfab opens 5th Call

EUMINAfab: the European Research Infrastructure for multimaterial micro and nano fabrication and characterization opens the 5th call for no fee access to 37 installations containing equipment to high end micro and nano technologies.

Researchers from both research and industry based in EU member or associated states may apply for access to one or more of the 37 installations based at the partner sites across Europe. Proposals are subject to Peer review; and are intended for publication by the users. EUMINAfab is funded by European Commission FP7 Capacities programme which covers the cost of the transnational user access.
Started in March 2009, EUMINAfab has demonstrated 17 successfully projects by February 2011. 13% still need to be evaluated at this point of time. With a successful evaluation rate of about 70% of the proposed applications, the acceptance for user project is very high. The last EUMINAfab call was followed by 14 proposals.

EC financial support requires that the results of the work carried out are
intended for publication. Proprietary research may be a suitable option for
results which are not intended for publication.

The latest ENIAC call (ENIAC-2011-2) is CLOSED.

The proposals selected from this call are expected to start January 2012.

The ENIAC Joint Undertaking (JU) is a public-private partnership focusing on nanoelectronics that brings together Member/Associated States, the European Commission, and AENEAS (an association representing European R&D actors in this field).

It coordinates research activities through competitive calls for proposals to enhance the further integration and miniaturization of devices, and increase their functionalities while delivering new materials, equipment and processes, new architectures, innovative manufacturing processes, disruptive design methodologies, new packaging and ‘systemising’ methods. It will drive and be driven by innovative high-tech applications in communication and computing, transport, health care and wellness, energy and environmental management, security and safety, and entertainment.

MNT-ERA.NET is a large network of European Micro and Nano Technology (MNT) support programmes. It  was launched in 2004 and MNT-ERA.NET is continuing its activities under the 7th EU Framework Programme until 2011.

THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL JOINT CALL FOR COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH PROJECTS IN NANOMEDICINE IS CLOSED

Deadline for submission was April 15th 2011.

MATERA was an ERA-NET project focusing on creating a durable cooperation platform for national and regional policy makers and managers with strategic activities in materials science and engineering. It promoted European cooperation between national and regional programmes on materials. MATERA brought together an active network of 19 organisations from 16 countries. The project was funded by the European Commission in the sixth framework programme during 1.2.2005–31.5.2011.

Access2MexCyT aims to improve the development of the Euro-Mexican research area and, in particular, to identify access opportunities for European researchers in research and innovation programmes managed by Mexico. Additionally, it will provide the Mexican research community with opportunities to cooperate and to establish new partnerships with European counterparts.

This project launches calls where European Partners can participate.
